Volleyball
The 10th
annual Bethany Invitational Volleyball Tournament will take
place over two weekends. This is sponsored by the booster
club and the funds earned are used to update equipment as
well as maintenance of the PAC.
Since this is a primary fundraiser for the school, all families who
have students that participate in athletics are expected to
help out. However, we welcome anyone from the church and
school. We need workers for the admissions table,
concessions, and score table. There is a sign-up sheet on
the bulletin board outside the school office that is updated
daily. The boys play Friday/Saturday, Sept. 21-22nd. The
girls play Friday/Saturday, Sept. 28-29th. Won't you
please come to help out and/or watch some exciting
volleyball!! |

Academic Eligibility Requirements
The student’s first responsibility is
completing school work. One of the goals of Bethany Lutheran School
is for each student to learn to make the best use of his God given
talents.
All students are eligible for extra-curricular
activities at Bethany Lutheran School, providing they have the
following:
·
Parental permission
·
Sports physical when applicable
·
70% or above in each subject areas
·
Acceptable behavior in the classroom and during
extra-curricular activities
The classroom teacher will regularly check to
determine eligibility.
If a student’s work falls below acceptable
standards the following action will be taken.
- FIRST OFFENSE: The student will
receive a two week probationary warning. Parents will receive
written communication. During this probationary time the student
has two weeks to show they have attained 70% in the academic subject
in question.. Should the student’s work improve no further action
will be taken. Students may still participate in practices and
games during this time.
- SECOND OFFENSE: The student will
receive a one week suspension or two game suspension, which ever is
longer. Parents will receive written communication. The student
will remain ineligible for at least one school week. The student
will be reinstated into their extra-curricular activity after they
have served their week suspension and have attained the acceptable
academic level. (70%)
- THIRD OFFENSE: The student is removed
from the extra-curricular activity for the season. A conference
will be held with parents, student, teacher and principal.
We ask for parental support in this matter as the
development of strong, accurate work/study habits is very important in
the education of children.
