By the power of God's Spirit, the
mission of Bethany Lutheran School
is to
train, equip, and support witnesses
for His Kingdom.
History
Classes began at
Bethany in September of 1930. Pastor-teacher Adolph Ulrich and his six
pupils gathered in the church basement to begin the task of learning
about God's love in Christ while also mastering the three R's. Today, in
a modern 35,000 square foot facility, nearly 400 students are nurtured
in the same cherished traditions of academic excellence, student success
and Christian discipleship. Bethany Lutheran School is a place where
children can learn what they need to know for this life and eternity.
Bethany
Lutheran School Exists to...
1. Provide thorough
instruction in God's word in order that your child may:
- learn to know
and trust Christ as his/her loving Savior
- know what the
Lord expects of him/her
- voluntarily do
that which is right and God pleasing
2. Assist the home in
carrying out its role commanded by God.
3. Teach the skills
necessary for successful, purposeful, and useful living.
At Bethany
Lutheran School we believe...
- Our school is
an extension of the Christian home.
- Christian
education embraces all aspects of a child's development.
- God works
through the teachers he has called to Bethany.
- Each child and
staff member lives in the daily forgiveness of sins.
- Each student
is a redeemed child of God, important to Him, important to Bethany.
Academic Excellence
At Bethany, your child
will receive a quality Christian education in the Lutheran tradition.
All teachers on staff are fully certified through the State of Illinois.
The school is accredited by National Lutheran School Accreditation,
North Central Accreditation, and
recognized by the State of Illinois. All subjects are taught from the
Christian perspective by Christian teachers. Academic achievement and
student success are stressed at Bethany. The school's test results are
"above average" when compared with local and national norms.
